Vitreous opacification can significantly reduce visual quality and is increasingly recognized as a challenge in clinical practice. The posterior segment Apple Laboratory developed an in-vitro model to quantify the optical burden caused by the vitreous gel using forward light scattering. Currently, novel treatment options are evaluated using this model and more sophisticated optical analyses are tested to further improve the model.
